Price County Genealogical Society was formed in March of 1993 by a group interested in furthering genealogical research for Price County. One of their first undertakings was creating an index of the county cemeteries.
In 2012 the members began the undertaking of bringing the resources they had in old-fashioned 'hard copy' to the internet. As can well be imagined, this is a never-ending task.
In 2016 the process was begun to Incorporate the Society, with the focus on how PCGS would be serving the interests of current and future genealogists.
The Price County Genealogical Society meets six time a year. Membership is open to anyone who supports the mission of PCGS, which is to provide educational programs and genealogical resources, as well as assisting individuals and other organizations with opportunities to use and create genealogical records. PCGS meets in March, April, May, and September, October, November on the last Tuesday of the month. The business meeting is at 5 p.m., followed by the Program. Anyone interested in Genealogy or PCGS is welcome to attend. The Annual Meeting of the membership is in November. Membership dues are $10 annually, due on the first of the year.
